 Real time Feedback in the Classroom


    Real time feedback is instant feedback and  ongoing feedback to single people or teams. This feedback is immediate as the project is going, instead of continueing the project and getting feedback at a future time.

Advantages of real time feedback - 

Improved performance - the team member knows the strength immediately. 

Engagement - Team feels heard and valued, their work matters.

Continuous Learning- the project is always changing and the team is learning from mistakes. 

Communication - Real time feedback fosters open communication.

Faster Problem Solving -  The issues are known sooner and the problem can see immediate attention.


Strategies for real time feedback

Real time feed back must be timely, specific, positive, constructive, and have solutions. 

The feedback nees to be on a positive, non blaming frame. The feedback needs to focus on the problem and not the person.

M3 Reinforcement Activity

Psychology of gaming: Gaming and gaming design can create engaging experiences and let the individual feel rewarded. Gaming creates connections as well as escapism. Games can trigger dopamine, which makes the brain feel pleasure. Serotonin can be released during gaming as well. Serotonin can regulate the mind and create a feeling of happiness. Games really bring people together. I can introduce a game in class. We will play table tennis. The challenge is the players have to make their own paddle. The students will work together designing. During game time all students from all groups will be pulled in to play, all sense of social clicks are gone. It is the sense of competition that draws the students together, that seems to bleed over to the class time. The social clicks are forgotten. Points really give the students a reward.
