What learning theory would make this activity feasible?

Constructivism is a learning theory that focuses on the creative experience and what we learn and reflect on from that experience through analysis and reflection. The learner is creating the experience instead of just waiting to learn a topic.

How would you modify this activity to work in an online environment?

This activity can be accomplished online through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. The ability to screen share and also have the ability to observe the body language of the participants is beneficial when a classroom is not accessible.. Small groups with video capabilities and online conversations have worked well in my graduate college experience.

Test this theory in a Workshop/class. What worked and did not work, and what was the best excuse?

Zoom worked with a leadership class I had. The team was small and had a shared goal. The downside to Zoom is a lack of experience in using the tool. The team spent more time working with the technology than on the project.

Too much work from school

M3 Reinforcement Activity

Psychology of gaming: Gaming and gaming design can create engaging experiences and let the individual feel rewarded. Gaming creates connections as well as escapism. Games can trigger dopamine, which makes the brain feel pleasure. Serotonin can be released during gaming as well. Serotonin can regulate the mind and create a feeling of happiness. Games really bring people together. I can introduce a game in class. We will play table tennis. The challenge is the players have to make their own paddle. The students will work together designing. During game time all students from all groups will be pulled in to play, all sense of social clicks are gone. It is the sense of competition that draws the students together, that seems to bleed over to the class time. The social clicks are forgotten. Points really give the students a reward.
