M5:Reinforcement Activity
How To Change a Tire
I would use a flipped classroom approach to this. The youtube video is short and the students could easily learn the process of changing a tire before class. I would use this approach because I would want the students to do the hands-on portion in class. The knowledge gained from the video would give the students the knowledge of what to expect during the process. Each student would have to change a tire during class time. Unlike the video we would take at least 5-10 minutes for the safety factor of having the students not drop a car. Critical thinking would include having a European car with with lug bolts instead of the American cars with lug nuts. The students would have to figure that process out and discuss it.
This is the video I would use:

I would add a how to on check the air pressure and how to put air in your tire. I would do this as a collaborative class. The students could learn from each other. We often let students bring their cars to our shop when the weather changes to have the students fill the air in their tires. This lets the students feel pride in what they know, while helping and educating students that don't take my class on the subjects taught in class.
