Psychology of gaming: Gaming and gaming design can create engaging experiences and let the individual feel rewarded. Gaming creates connections as well as escapism. Games can trigger dopamine, which makes the brain feel pleasure. Serotonin can be released during gaming as well. Serotonin can regulate the mind and create a feeling of happiness. Games really bring people together. I can introduce a game in class. We will play table tennis. The challenge is the players have to make their own paddle. The students will work together designing. During game time all students from all groups will be pulled in to play, all sense of social clicks are gone. It is the sense of competition that draws the students together, that seems to bleed over to the class time. The social clicks are forgotten. Points really give the students a reward.
